Professor Foliente will present an overview of the development of the Physical Internet (PI) in the Philippines and the development status of a PI readiness and capability framework (or maturity model) to evaluate national logistics systems and guide targeted investments. It covers governance, policy, infrastructure, digitalization, workforce, and sustainability—factors critical for PI adoption. By benchmarking current maturity levels and learning from global best practices, policymakers can prioritize actions, build capacity, and accelerate transformation. The framework helps align technological innovation with institutional readiness, supporting a just and effective transition toward globally connected, efficient, and resilient logistics systems. Implications to PI development and implementation in the Philippines are explored.
